  • All animal proposals must be discussed with the Senior Veterinary Scientist before applying

  • Individuals must have relevant training, skills and experience

  • The Chief Investigator (CI) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of their AS-AEC approved project, personnel, animal welfare, and reporting

  • All researchers approved in a project are responsible for the welfare of animals and complying with the approved AS-AEC submission

  • Personnel can be prosecuted for non-compliance

  • All animal welfare concerns/unexpected events should be immediately reported to the Animal Welfare Officer (Senior Veterinary Scientist)

 

Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO):

It is possible to work with some GMO / GMO-exempt animals at the Synchrotron.

Please ensure you have discussed this with the Senior Veterinary Scientist prior to submitting an application.
