Why does my data look like this?
Problem | Try… |

Very high counts at very low angle | The beamstop is not in place. Did you remember to put the table in place after aligning your sample when doing a variable temperature sample? |
Random channels with 0 counts | These are dead channels on the detector. Talk to your beamline scientist and they can either mask the channel in the data collection or you can just delete/mask that data point in your data as you analyse it. |
All channels with 3-5 counts | There is no beam on the sample. Have you forgotten to open the mono shutter when you changed sample? |
