Toroidal Analyser - (ARPES)

After many years of service, the Toroidal Analyser will be retired at the end of Round 2/2025.

This endstation was a custom-built electron spectrometer built by La Trobe University, for performing angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES) and other experiments. Its unique toroidal electrode geometry allowed for rapid and wide momentum space mapping. The system also included a high intensity vacuum ultraviolet lamp and a scanning tunnelling microscope (STM) for experiments in support of with-beam surface science and analyses.
