scatterBrain Introduction
scatterBrain is a software package developed at the Australian Synchrotron SAXS/WAXS beamline for data acquisition, data reduction and preliminary data analysis. It serves as the main user interface for scientists conducting experiments at the SAXS/WAXS beamline. An analysis version, without beamline control features, is available to allow data reduction and analysis after an experiment has finished. The instructions in this manual are valid for both the control version used on the beamline and the analysis version that may be downloaded for use outside the facility.
This manual is intended as a guide to the data reduction and analysis features of scatterBrain. scatterBrain is based on the SAXS15ID software originally written at the ChemMatCARS beamline of the Advanced Photon Source, Chicago. It is cross-platform compatible (tested under Windows, Linux and OS X) featuring a straightforward drag-and-drop interface.Â
