Data Download
Did you recently complete your experiment and would like to download a copy of your experimental data? Download it via our SFTP service.
Â
Our sftp is available on sftp.synchrotron.org.au (port 22)
Â
The easiest way is to use a SFTP client such as WinSCP or Filezilla. Configure your client with the following settings:
Host / Server: sftp.synchrotron.org.au
Port: 22
Protocol: SFTP
Username: Your UserHub email address
Password: Your UserHub password
Â
When you connect you will be presented with a list of folders for each experiment you have attended, grouped by beamline.
If you are familiar with the command line tool rsync
, you can use it to download your data or even script the download of data. Use the same settings as above:
rsync -avz [userhub email address]@sftp.synchrotron.org.au:/data/[beamline]/[epn]
Â
Â
Many of our beamlines allow you to download your data during the experiment. Check with your friendly beamline scientist.
Â
ASCI Desktop
If you are using ASCI Desktop to process your data, make sure you store the processed results in your experiment folder. Any files outside your experiment folder, for instance in your home folder, are not available via sftp.
Â
The Future
We are aware that sftp is not the most efficient method of downloading data. Many research facilities have recently implemented Globus. ANSTO is currently working on making data transfer via Globus available to our users.
