Before submitting a proposal
Consider the beamline capabilities. Is the energy range, resolution, flux and other specifications suitable for the experiment you are planning? If you are unsure, the beamline staff will be happy to help.
The MX Collaborative Access Program (CAP)
Access to the three MX Beamlines is usually via MX Collaborative Access Program (CAP) proposals. Access via a CAP system better reflects the needs of the MX community where labs require regular access to beamtime in order to progress their research activities. Sharing beamtime between different laboratories allows the CAP to have the flexibility to optimally utilise beamtime allocations dependent on sample and team member availability
The AS user portal is opened for submission of MX CAP proposals in early July each year and closes at the end of July.

If you are planning on running non-standard experiments, contact the beamline team to plan your experiment. Consider if you need any inductions or safety training.
