How do I arrange early check-in and late check-out?
The User Office does not provide an early check-in/late check-out service. We encourage all Users groups to consider pre-booking additional nights, prior to arrival, if one of these options is required.
Remember: You are entitled to complimentary accommodation for the nights of your beamtime, plus two additional nights.

I’m arriving on a public holiday, where should I go to collect my room key and access card?
 Your room key will be pre-activated by the User Office. Please proceed to the Security desk located inside the main entrance of the synchrotron building.
 If the desk is unattended or the automatic doors are locked, Security can be contacted via::

Does the guesthouse have any cooking facilities available?
 The Australian Synchrotron Guesthouse contains a large fully equipped communal kitchen on the ground floor.
 There is ample refrigerator and pantry space to store supplies.
 Three of our two-bedroom apartments also contain a small kitchenette with cooking facilities.

Is breakfast served at the guesthouse?
We provide an assortment of self-serve breakfast cereals, tea, coffee and milk (s) in the communal kitchen. Guests are welcome to purchase additional supplies to store in one of our many refrigerators or pantry spaces.
 Alternatively, the Kitchen Sync café is located within the NCSS Building and is open from 08.30am – 02.00pm.

Do guestrooms have tea and coffee facilities?
 Our suite of 50 guestrooms are all fitted with tea and coffee stations and provide a range of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits.

Is Wi-Fi available at the guesthouse?
Wi-FI is provided at the guesthouse free of charge. A voucher with a Wi-Fi password will be provided within your room key wallet, at time of check-in.
Additional vouchers can be collected from the User Office or Security.

Is parking available at the guesthouse?
 There are limited parking spaces at the guesthouse, however there are several ‘overflow’ carparks available onsite and therefore no restrictions on capacity.

 Can international Users stay at the guesthouse?
 International User groups are encouraged to utilise the guesthouse facility during beamtime. A charge equal to the affiliated nightly rate for that room type, will be charged to the guest There is no restriction on length of stay.

Can my partner stay at the Australian Synchrotron?
 Partners are welcome at the guesthouse. Please provide their details at time of booking, so that we can ensure additional supplies are added to the room and a second key is activated prior to check-in.

How far is the guesthouse from the Australian Synchrotron?
 The guesthouse is located within the Australian Synchrotron facility precinct, a mere 50 metres from the synchrotron building.

How often are guestrooms serviced? Can I cancel mid-stay cleans?
 Guestrooms are serviced every three days with a towel and linen replacement provided.
Should you wish to forgo these cleans, please notify the User Office, or place a ‘Day-not-disturb’ sign on the outside of your guestroom door.

How do I check-in at the guesthouse?
To obtain your guesthouse key, you will need to visit the User Office – located in the NCSS Building.
Check-In time is from 2.00pm until 4.30pm.
As of 4.30pm, the User Office is closed for the day and after that time, Security will have all guesthouse keys and they will be pre-activated.
Check-Out time is no later than 10.00am on your check out day.
Upon check out, your guesthouse room key can be left in the security box in the guesthouse foyer or alternatively, you may drop off the key to the User Office.
