Hiring a User Vehicle

Can I pre-book a User vehicle?

 Due to User demand and to allow equal access to all User groups, there is no facility to pre-book User vehicles.  They are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Are the User vehicles manual or automatic?

 Both vehicles are automatic.

Are there any restrictions on probationary licenses?

 ANSTO only accepts open licences after the probationary period has been completed in full.

Are there restrictions on international licenses?

We accept all current international licenses, with exception to provisional permits. Any license not printed in English must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP).

Are the cars insured?

 Both vehicles are insured in the event of accident or accidental damage.

Do we have to pay to re-fuel a User vehicle?

Users are not required to pay for fuel. Fuel cards are provided for both vehicles. The User Office can provide further information on how and where these cards can be used.

How do I sign-up to use a User vehicle during my stay?

The User Office has two vehicles available to borrow. These can be utilised for up to 3 hours at a time.

To sign up for usage:-

The User Office will need to take a copy of your current and valid drivers licence.

In addition, the user will need to complete a pool car user form.

From that point onwards, you will be registered to utilise a pool car.

From the hours of 8.30am – 4.30pm (Monday to Friday), pool car keys can be collected from the User Office.  Outside of those hours, Security will have the keys.
