When does my beamtime start?

Your experiment start time will be listed on your beamtime notification letter and EA confirmation.

We do recommend that Users coordinate with their beamline contact regarding start times as some beamlines require a 1 hour setup.

Where do I park and how do I get in after-hours?

There is onsite parking on the left hand side as you enter the boom gates at the front entrance.

If you already have an access card you will be able to swipe in after hours as long as you are listed on an active Experiment Authorisation form.

If you do not have an access card and are visiting for a current experiment or onsite accommodation, you can access the yellow Security intercom box located to the right of the drivers window, as you enter the facility.

You must advise the user office of this arrival in advance and then visit the user office during business hours to have an access card arranged.

How can I arrange a taxi transfer whilst at the synchrotron?

Our facility has a preferred taxi service and pre-bookings are welcome.

Phone: 0412 291 296 or email on jim.chrisicos@bigpond.com

I require assistance obtaining a visa. Can the Australian Synchrotron provide a written confirmation of my travel to the AS?

If you log onto your Australian Synchrotron dashboard page you will be able to download a visa support letter in the ‘Support Documentation’ section.

I am vegan. Is there an animal free milk option available onsite?

There is soy milk available in the guesthouse and user lounge.

Do I need to pre-register my vehicle for parking for my upcoming beam time?

No this is not required.
