Once you have screened your crystal and determined the optimum collection strategy, you are ready to collect your data!

Standard exposure for the Eiger is 10 degrees per 1 second, so if you are collecting a 180 degree wedge, it will take 18 seconds.

  1. Open the Collection tab in the QEGui Eiger_collect_tab.

  2. Make sure that the Ready to Collect circle is Blue. If it is Red, check the Diagnostics tab on the QEGui.

  3. Fill in the Crystal Description details (not mandatory, but advised). You can change the size of the cross hair to measure the crystal size, see Crystal crosshair for instructions.

  4. If you have gone through the Screening and Strategy the collection tab should already be ready with all the correct details for the optimum data collection. Otherwise, based on the results from the crystal screening, fill in the Input details for your collection.
