Tomography at XFM
XFM is accepting proposals for X-ray fluorescence tomography. XRF tomography allows the elemental rendering of 3D volumes at micron scale lengths, which sets it apart from absorption contrast tomography which you may be familiar with.
If you are new to using the XFM beamline, tomography is not the first experiment you should attempt, because tomography is very time consuming, and you may obtain the information you need by scanning many samples with normal 2D mapping. Samples need to be fairly small, usually on the order of 1 mm or less, so self-absorption of the escaping X-ray fluorescence is not detrimental to the measurement.
