The HT-NEXAFS system can be operated in a convenient mail-in format. Users can:

• Mount samples onto our standard sample “rulers”

• Prepare the scan control file in advance 💻

• Send the mounted rulers to us prior to the scheduled beamtime

The SXR team will load your samples into the system before beamtime begins, and you can monitor data acquisition remotely as it is collected 📊.

This option enables efficient use of allocated beamtime and is well-suited to experienced users familiar with the system.

For users accessing the HT-NEXAFS system for the first time, we strongly recommend attending in person. An on-site visit provides:

• Hands-on training

• Direct support from beamline staff

• A deeper understanding of system operation

While in-person attendance is not mandatory, it is highly encouraged for your first beamtime to ensure the best learning experience and future experimental success.

Whether attending in person or working remotely, we strongly encourage users to:

• Mount samples onto the standard rulers in advance

• Prepare the scan control file before beamtime

• Return mounted rulers to the beamline ahead of your session

Proper preparation helps ensure smooth operation and allows you to make the most of your allocated beamtime.

We will be sending you 10 sample rulers, along with double-sided carbon tape
