MXPrism
MXPrism is the user interface for sample uploading and data processing. Once samples are uploaded, it interfaces with MXCube (for data collection) and displays information regarding the processing of your data.
Homepage
You can access MXPrism via the link: mx-prism.mx3.beamline.synchrotron.org.au
Once you log in, you should see the homepage as depicted below.
There are three tabs for navigation:
My Experiments: Here you can view previously collected results, sorted my project, link to your current experiments results, upload sample data, and complete shipping information
My Projects: Here you can create and edit projects
My Labs: For lab membership management
My Labs
Here you will see the lab/labs you are a member of. Lab owners can add members and give them admin rights.
Lab Admins can add and remove lab members, and give other members admin rights. To add a lab member you need to click the “Add Member” button and enter their email address into the search bar. Only registered Australian Synchrotron users can be added to a lab.
There is only one lab owner, and lab admins cannot remove the lab owner.
If you are not an admin or owner, you will only be able to see lab members, you will not be able to modify them.
My Projects
All samples that you collect on MX3 must belong to a project. A project can have samples from multiple pucks, from multiple dewars across multiple visits. You can also have sub-projects within each project folder.
To add a project, click “Add Project”. This will bring up Project details to fill in for your new project. The only essential fields are the type of project - PX (protein) or CX (chemical), and the name.
Once you have at least one project, you can add child projects to create a nested tree of projects.
You can edit, move and delete projects from this interface
Important things to note: All your projects will be visible to everyone in your lab. Any changes you make will also affect everyone else in your lab.

Samples must be uploaded in MXPrism in order for the robot to be able to mount your samples.

The live tab gives you information and statistics for each data collection. Datasets will be displayed from most recent to least recent, you can sift through these datasets by clicking on the corresponding page number.
The status of the data processing is presented on the right hand side.
Your processing statistics are presented in the left panel.
Hovering over the ⓘ button will give you additional information about the data.
Clicking on the H5WEB button allows you to look at the raw frames of the collection.
The graph on the right gives information about the quality of your data (completeness, multiplicity, resolution).
H5WEB
When you click on H5WEB, you can view your frames interactively.
If you have weak diffraction, change the scale to SymLog, or try different scaling to best visualise your data. You can also adjust the contract with the slider.
You can change the colour scheme to your preferred colours.
At the bottom of the window, you can drag to slider to view frames from different parts of your data collection. Adjust the start and end points to change how many frames are slabbed together in the viewer.
Future Experiments
There are three sections in the Sample & Shipping details page.
Shipping Info
Here you can enter your dewar shipping details and generate shipping labels.
Even if you are bringing a dewar by hand on site, please still register it here and print out the generated label.
Shipping Container
Add Dewars here. They can be called whatever you like.
Sample Upload
Add pucks using the graphical user interface. The puck name can be whatever you like, the barcode MUST be what is engraved on the puck body. This will be read by the robot laser scanner when loading pucks into the robot dewar, and you will only be allowed to mount samples that are correctly registered in MXPrism.
Add the pins in your puck.
Method 1 - Name every pin and assign a project. You can copy and paste from a spreadsheet.
